This is a project for demonstrating my story making ability. I will be using all the skills and methods I learned from this class to create a purpose story for one of the products which I studied about in the former projects. And the product I chose is the SELF-DEFENSE VENDING MACHINE which is a machine that sells legal 'weapons' for self-defense purposes.

Written Story:

Working Process:

I started from choosing one product from my former projects. After a debate in my mind, I chose the self-defense vending machine from System class which is a product that is not so realistic but its purpose story can be definitely dramatic.

I then crafted a molecule, snapshot, and a profile for the user and needs.

Concept, Origin, and Usage Story arcs:

And then I drafted these story arcs for a better vision of a more solid story.

Formation:

And then, I came up with this story arc

After that I created a GMC for the story which includes some simple internal and external goals, conflicts, and motivations.

And picturing a storyboard for communicating some basic ideas.

I wrote my story at the end.

Reflection:

Something that I could have improved should be the conciseness and the accuracy of my story arcs. Sometimes, I could've forgot to mention some important elements or stating them out clearly.

I've tried to focus on writing the emotion of the user this time by shortening the buying process and adding more user's reactions in each phrases. I just hope that I am adding enough reactions and descriptions of the user's emotion.

Something I think I am doing well this time is that I am choosing the topic correctly this time. Instead of choosing stories for computer mouse and museum kiosk, I chose self-defense ending machine. The users of self-defense vending machine should have a more drastic change in their emotions since they are probably encountering dangers and struggling with the uncertainty of potentially dangerous environment, I feel like even though this machine might not be reasonable enough in many perspectives but its story is definitely more appealing than the other choices I have.
